Rumors of the budding romance between Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce and pop culture icon, Taylor Swift appeared to be confirmed when Taylor Swift first attended the Kansas City Chiefs home game on September 24, 2023. Kelce’s interest was first reported, however, previously, at her July 8 Eras tour performance at Arrowhead Stadium. At the concert, he attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. Although, before the 24th, it was unclear whether his interest was reciprocated.
After her first appearance, Taylor has been spotted at four consecutive Kansas City Chief games, all of which the Chiefs have been dominant. Kelce’s teammates support the romance and joke that Swift is their “unofficial mascot.” Not only does her attendance influence their performance, but her nationwide following has had explosive impacts on the Chiefs social media and has resulted in a significant boost in ticket sales. According to a new Daily Mail report, "People are buying Chiefs tickets in the hopes of seeing Taylor, and she knows this.”
Revealing the genuinity of the relationship, Taylor Swift was spotted sitting with Kelce’s mother, Donna at several Kansas City home games. An inside source, reporting to Daily Mail Report, claimed “the bond between Kelce’s mom, Donna, and Swift grows stronger with each game, the source added, saying: “They have a real special connection and Travis loves this.”
As Taylor Swift continues her international Eras tour shows this November, it seems that Kelce plans to accompany her on her travels. An inside source tells Entertainment Tonight, that both Swift and Kelce are “very serious about their careers, and the two bond over that and want to support each other whenever they can.” While both stars have contrasting fanbases, the romance between Swift and Kelce has left the nation eager to see what is in store for this young couple.
